Why not book a relaxing massage after a day of mountain biking across Dartmoor, or choose a new treatment to make the most of some quiet time whilst the rest of your group is exploring Tavistock? Most of the treatments listed below can be enjoyed at Vixen Tor Farm itself, allowing you to completely immerse yourself and maximise the benefits of each session. Therapies can be booked for individual members or your whole group.
Massage: We can arrange for you to have either relaxation massages in our garden room, or more robust sports massages by a qualified physiotherapist. Our on-site massage treatments are a wonderful way of ending each day of your stay with us, with the added benefit of not needing to drive anywhere afterwards! The off-site sports massages are perfect for enhancing sports performance, aiding recovery and reducing injury.
Acupuncture: Needling or acupuncture stimulates the brain to produce natural pain relieving chemicals (endorphins) which assist the body to heal itself and give pain relief. We can provide you with access to a chartered physiotherapist who practices acupuncture as well, thus providing the benefits of combined training and experience.
Personal Trainer: You may wish to improve your health and fitness whilst staying at Vixen Tor Farm, with the help of one of our recommended personal trainers. We can arrange for them to meet with you at the property, and following a consultation, plan and deliver a personalised programme of physical exercises and activities in our very private setting.
Yoga: Our network of yoga therapists includes a Forrest Yoga specialist, which is a dynamic practice built on the pillars of Breath, Strength, Integrity and Spirit. It helps to release tension and encourages a deeper connection with your body and your emotions. You don’t need to be bendy or strong! Whether you are new or a well-seasoned yogi, working on an injury or looking for a practice that reconnects you with yourself, Forrest Yoga can be adapted to all levels and physical abilities.
Pilates: Scheduling a programme of pilates during your stay will help improve your posture, core muscle strength, flexibility, body and movement awareness. We can book classes at a nearby Pilates Studio to suit your level of fitness – from gentle rehabilitation to more robust sessions for experienced attendees.
Physiotherapy: If you want to use your break as an opportunity to help resolve long-standing muscular aches and pains, we can arrange for a full assessment and daily physio treatment. Our recommended chartered physiotherapist is experienced in assessing, diagnosing and treating muscular pain.
